For beginners, we'd typically recommend resorts with gentle nursery slopes, good ski schools, and a relaxed atmosphere, such as Morzine or Les Gets in France, or Ellmau in Austria. We'll pair you with a reputable ski school and arrange everything from equipment hire to lessons, so you can make the most of every day on the mountain.
European ski season typically runs December to April, with the peak period (and best snow at altitude) from January to mid-March. February half-term is the busiest and most expensive week. March is often the sweet spot, reliable snow, longer days, and lower prices. For long-haul skiing in Japan or Canada, January to February is prime season.
Yes, this is very common and we specialise in it. We'll recommend resorts with varied terrain to suit all abilities, arrange level-appropriate ski school groups, and ensure your accommodation has the space and facilities your whole group needs. The Three Valleys in France and Zell am See in Austria are both excellent for mixed-ability groups.
Absolutely. Many European resorts are brilliantly set up for families, with dedicated children's ski schools from age 3, indoor playgrounds, sledging areas, and family-friendly accommodation. Avoriaz in France, Saas-Fee in Switzerland, and Sölden in Austria all have excellent reputations for family skiing. We'll advise the best fit for your children's ages.
Location relative to the slopes is paramount, ski-in ski-out access saves a huge amount of time and effort. Beyond that: a hot tub or sauna for tired muscles, a boot room to dry equipment overnight, and a welcoming host who prepares breakfast and dinner. We'll always advise on the chalets we'd personally recommend for your group size and budget.
