La Dolce Vita

Art, Beauty & the World's
Greatest Cuisine

Italy has a way of stopping you in your tracks. Whether it's the first sight of the Colosseum rising from a Roman street, the view from a clifftop villa above the Amalfi Coast, or a simple glass of wine in a Tuscan vineyard as the sun sets over cypress-lined hills, moments of absolute, uncomplicated beauty arrive with remarkable frequency.

At the luxury end, Italy performs like no other destination on earth. The hotels are extraordinary, converted Renaissance palaces in Florence, clifftop retreats on Sicily with views that seem almost absurd in their perfection, grand dames on the Venetian waterfront with centuries of history behind them, masserie in Puglia where life slows to a pace that feels genuinely restorative. The food and wine are, of course, peerless. And unlike many luxury destinations, Italy rewards exploration, there is no single "best" region, just a succession of different, equally compelling reasons to return.

We specialise in crafting itineraries that do Italy properly, the right hotels in the right regions, thoughtfully paced so you experience the culture rather than just tick boxes. Whether you want a single spectacular base, a multi-region grand tour, or a twin-centre combining two very different corners of the country, we'll make it happen.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Late spring (May–June) and early autumn (September–October) are widely considered the best times, warm, sunny, and avoiding the peak summer crowds and heat. July and August are extremely busy, especially on the Amalfi Coast and in Florence and Rome, with temperatures in the mid-to-high 30s. Sicily and Puglia are well-suited to summer given their beach-focused nature. For city breaks (Rome, Florence, Venice), spring and autumn are strongly preferred. December and January offer great value and a quieter experience, Venice in winter is magical.

It depends on what you're after. For art, architecture, and culture, Florence and Rome are unmatched. For dramatic coastal scenery and unforgettable views, the Amalfi Coast and Taormina in Sicily lead the way. For a quieter, more authentic rural luxury experience, Tuscany, Umbria, and Puglia are beautiful. Venice is uniquely atmospheric. Many guests find that combining two regions, say Florence + Amalfi, or Rome + Puglia, gives the most satisfying Italy experience. We're happy to help you decide.

Exceptionally. Italy is one of the world's most romantic destinations, candlelit dinners in Tuscan hilltop villages, a private boat along the Amalfi Coast at sunset, a gondola in Venice, a clifftop suite in Taormina with Etna visible across the water. The combination of extraordinary food, wine, beauty, and warmth makes Italy a near-perfect honeymoon choice. Popular honeymoon combinations include Amalfi Coast + Puglia, Florence + Tuscany, or a Sicilian grand tour.

UK passport holders can visit Italy for up to 90 days within any 180-day period without a visa. Italy is part of the Schengen Area, the 90-day limit applies to all Schengen countries combined, not just Italy. From 2025, travellers from the UK will need to register under the ETIAS system (a simple online pre-travel authorisation), similar to the US ESTA. We'll advise on any entry requirements ahead of your travel.

Italy combines beautifully with other European destinations, Greece, Croatia, and Montenegro are popular twin-centre options. For those wanting a beach extension to a city break, Sicily or Puglia in summer work well combined with a few days in Rome or Florence. We can price and arrange the entire combined trip as a single protected package.
