Luxury Collection
The World's Greatest Beach Destination
The Maldives occupies a unique position in the world of luxury travel, there is no other destination quite like it, and no photograph that truly prepares you for the experience of arriving. The turquoise of the lagoons is a colour that doesn't seem to exist anywhere else on earth. The clarity of the water is absurd. And the sensation of stepping from your overwater villa directly into the warm Indian Ocean, with no one else in sight, is one of travel's genuinely irreplaceable experiences.
What makes the Maldives remarkable is that each resort occupies its own private island, you are, in the most literal sense, on a deserted island, but with every conceivable luxury laid on. The difference between resorts is significant: some are intimate and quiet, others have a beach club energy; some are best for diving and marine life, others for honeymooners seeking seclusion; some prioritise food and dining, others wellness and spa. Choosing the right resort is everything, and it's what we specialise in.
The Maldives also pairs beautifully with Sri Lanka, Dubai, or a city break in Singapore or Bangkok as part of a longer journey. With a four- or five-hour flight from the Gulf and eight or nine hours direct from the UK via Sri Lanka or Qatar, it's closer than many people realise, and the combination of an overwater villa with absolute seclusion makes the journey worthwhile every time.

FAQs
November to April is the dry season, the best time to visit, with clear skies, calm seas, and exceptional underwater visibility. December to March is peak season and the most popular period for UK travellers. May to October is the wet season, short heavy showers rather than continuous rain, and often the sea remains calm on the eastern side of atolls. The Maldives is a year-round destination and the sea temperature barely varies (28–30°C throughout the year). Travelling in the wet season can offer significant savings without compromising the experience significantly.
It depends on what you're after. Overwater villas offer direct ocean access, unobstructed sea views, and the unique experience of total immersion in the lagoon. Beach villas typically offer more privacy, larger gardens, easier beach access, and are often better for families with children. At many resorts, a beach pool villa is our recommended compromise, private beach, private pool, more space, at a lower price than an overwater villa. We'll give you honest advice on which works best at each specific resort, taking account of the reef, the lagoon quality, and what the budget stretches to.
It depends on the resort's location. Resorts in North and South Malé atolls are reached by speedboat (20–60 minutes). Resorts in more remote atolls require a seaplane transfer, a stunning 20–40 minute flight over the islands that is often a highlight of the trip in itself. Some very remote resorts require a domestic flight to another atoll followed by a speedboat. We'll explain the transfer for your chosen resort and include everything in the package price, no surprises on arrival.
Many resorts welcome families warmly and have excellent children's facilities, Four Seasons Kuda Huraa, One&Only Reethi Rah, and Soneva Fushi all cater exceptionally well to children. Others are adults-only or better suited to couples. Snorkelling directly from the beach, marine biology programmes, sandbank picnics, and learning to sail are all experiences children find genuinely magical. We'll steer you towards the resorts that are genuinely family-friendly rather than just tolerating children, and suggest the right villa category to give everyone space.
